The Old Bridge man, who was not identified by name, was recovered by search teams on Prospertown Lake in Jackson Township just before 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz said.

Jackson police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a capsized boat on the lake around 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, the chief said.

Police boats and divers were deployed Saturday afternoon in an effort to find the missing boater, Kunz said. Officials from NJ Fish and Game, Lakewood emergency services and the NJSP also responded.

The search was suspended Saturday evening due to severe weather and darkness, and resumed Sunday morning, Aug. 4, Kunz said.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office will be taking the body for a post-mortem examination, Kunz said.
